We are doing all home-grown cgi front ends, based on Howies fpweb as the
basic mechanism.
We looked at fpgi and reface etc, also some other things over the years
like AniTa and some other gui-term I forgot it's name by now
Everything is crap in one way or another, (including what we are doing).
At least the cgi way you can eventually replace the back end with
something else because the UI is purely a UI, and a standard universal
free one, not tied to any particular software on client or server, and
works on any client OS too.
If I had to use an overlay dress-up app, I'd probably try to use AniTa
or AniTa WEB. Except...good grief $4200 for 50 seats, and who knows what
kind of annoyance goes along with that in terms of managing serial
numbers or activation codes and crap. Pay, for the privilege of being
annoyed forever... crap crap crap, back to the first suggestion just
write cgis.
