I have gotten around the issue had by having filePro installed on my client's old server. This is a backup with the data files updated at night. Also, Fp & filePro folders are backed up nightly to an external drive.
Since the old server has the license service installed, all that is necessary is to get a new license and install it. Then change to login IP address to the old server which we cloned to the new server. This left all the drive mappings the same.
I realize that not all businesses have the ability to have 2 servers on line and available, but in this case the do.
This client can't really afford to be down for more the 2 hours and another can't afford any down time. They operate 18 hours a day and the remaining 6 hours have reports and other maintenance programs running.
By the way, the. Client with two servers, there is a startup file on the old server which points to the new server for licensing.
I am planning to mirror the two servers on my next visit. That will eliminate on backup and keep that server's data current.
And yes, I am aware that if the primary servers data has issues, this will be reflected on the other server.
I have been mirroring two databases on my system and have had no issues from filePro. The big issue is when the connection to the mirror is lost and there is a need to re sync the databases. Some of the files are very large. 10 million plus records and that takes time.

We used to upgrade periodically, but apparently there must not have been no upgrades for a period of time after that version because we probably would have upgraded. Did not FP change hands around this time and nothing was happening????
