You don't even need to go further.

1) There -is- an issue.  You just said so.

2) You needed a workaround of some sort to get around the issue.  You also
just said that.

That's all that needs be said to explain why the LM is a horrible idea as
implemented, and why people are sticking to non-LM versions, rather than
upgrading.  A proper LM should not require workarounds, bending over
backwards, or other contortions in order for the software to function
properly.

You previously said you didn't understand the pushback.  Well, there you
go, summed up in -half- of one of -your own- sentences.

You're apparently willing to tolerate the situation.  Many are not.
