Graphics characters on screens are stored differently on Windows than on
other filePro systems, so simply copying them from Windows to Linux will
cause the places where those characters are to appear as "garbage". As you
already know, xfer will do the conversion for you.
However, your statements that "if i[sic] redraw the boxes on linux[sic]" and
"if i[sic] space bar out the funny characters", they don't go away, don't
make sense. I have never seen such a thing happen. (Out of curiosity, what
happens if you type something other than spaces?) If you have a filePro
file on Linux where typing over the characters in dscreen doesn't cause the
characters to be replaced, make arrangements with fpsupport to send a sample
file to them. (It's irrelevant where those "garbage" characters came from.
Typing over them in dscreen should replace them.)
