OT: keepalive, PPPoE, and ssh - no joy

Reading-impaired today?  OpenSSH 4.3p2 on linux kernel 2.2.16c37_111.
PuTTY didn't play into it.  My PuTTY stays up between 'doze and linux, but
the openssh from my linux to the solaris box *poofs* the second PPPoE goes
away.

Nope.  The PPPoE is in the D-Link, and I'm screwed when that happens.
