I believe we're going to need more information.  What soert of
cellphone, which OS is it running, and what protocol are they using to
get to the app?

If, as I suspect, the answers are "a smart phone, running Windows
Mobile, with an RDP client" then the answer is *almost* certainly that
that the RDP client in question has *some* way to generate those
keypresses, even if it's not real obvious.
