Printing to Windows spooler from Unix

Problem: We save a file with the use of "printer file" and "printer type" in
the processing for a report format. We want to retain print codes for PCL or
whatever. We use the appropriate printer type that allows PCL print codes.
If we print the file from a UNIX line such as:
lp -dprintertype nameoffile
it prints properly. If we send the file to be printed to a defined IP
address with a printer attached it prints fine.
If we print to a defined printer on the windows server the file is printed,
but does not execute the embedded print codes. They show on the printed page
as:
s12H etc.
How do I get the windows printer that is defined on the server side to
recognize the print codes and to print the page properly? This problem only
occurs when printing directly to or through the windows spooler.
