Printing to Windows spooler from Unix

It sounds as if Windows thinks it's a text file that is to be printed,
rather than the file already containing the printer control codes.  (As
if you had brought up the file in notepad and tried to print it from
there.)

How, exactly, do you print to the Windows spooler from Unix?  Is there a
way to tell it to tell Windows that this is already formatted for the
printer, and to treat it as raw data?
