John, I see what you are saying and I have from the
start.  I don't think that you understand what I am
saying however.  All I was trying to do was explain my
approach and you keep returning to your approach for
some reason.

Um, no, but I get your point.  If you use DCLERK with
the -xa you will get a free record :-)  But please
lets
stop this explanation as I totally understand you -
again, I don't think you understand me.

Look, your approach is valid and I can see how it
could work.  I was simply proposing an alternate
solution that I have used SUCCESSFULLY the past. 
Since I do not post to the file that I am sitting in I
do not have the issue that you describe.
