You know (and don't take this personally, Enrique), but I fail to see
how anyone that doesn't know how to properly shut down the system
(nor [apparently] how to look up said procedure) can vouch for any
particular version being ready for prime time, just as a matter of basic
qualification. That's been niggling at me all day. If one can't handle
the very basics of system operation, how can one judge with any authority
at all? I didn't want to start anything or offend anyone, but if others
are reviewing the readiness of software based on others' judgements, I
think the people vocally judging and shaping people's opinions should be at
least marginally qualified to do so.

This is highly reminiscent of the people in the linux world who rush out
and put Fedora Core 2 on a production system a month or two after release,
simply because it's a free replacement for the now-defunct RHL, it's the
latest release, and they don't want to pay for RHEL. (RHEL not being
worth it, since they buggered something as important as perl and -left-
it that way [despite being supposedly escalated] for over three months
and counting--perl-5.8.0-88.7 on RHEL3 is still hosed and segv's. Some
wonderful premium support, there. I don't envy the people getting screwed
on that one.) Generally speaking, people putting FC2 onto production
systems are either clueless or masochistic.

Whereas, by contrast, I know Bill has been using FBSD steadily for years,
is intimately familiar with it, and knows what is going on with it and in
the community.

Personally, I'd trust Bill's judgement in a heartbeat. It carries a lot of
weight with me, especially knowing his broad background and experience.
