No... that's one of the difficulties.  The problem is truly (at least 
seemingly) random.  Although this is a large (for me) system it is nonetheless pretty 
simple:  One hard drive, no RAID, about 20 terminals (mostly serial; a few 
IP), about 10 printers, no other apps besides filepro.

Sounds like John E. has experienced similar also on simple configurations... 
although his problem seems different if the key strokes actually end up 
getting processed.

I will check the L2 cache the next time I am on site, but the thought of 
overloading the processes is interesting too.  This machine is almost NEVER turned 
off.  Would that make a difference?  Does allocation of processes start over 
again after a reboot?  If so should the problem be less after a reboot?
