How do you know you haven't been hit if your are not running a software to check
for viruses and/or malware?
Even the most secure facilities periodically run security checks to see if they
have an holes. Viruses can be brought in from the outside via floppy disks, zip
disks, jump drives, etc.
LOOK INSIDE AS WELL AS OUTSIDE.
I have a client how had no connection to the outside world. That's right, no
internet connections not even dial-up. They still got hit when someone brought
in a screen saver from home. They hadn't updated their anti-virus software as I
suggested. So, I had to manually clean all of the computers and then install
anti-virus software. I sent then the virus updates or brought them once a week.
They now have a T1 line with all internet browsing blocked at the firewall
except for specific sites.
By the way, as I stated in an earlier message, the military trained me in b & e
and I spent my time breaking into supposedly secure facilities. Got a lot of
high ranking officers very made at me but I was doing my job with orders from
higher up the chain.
