Job Opening

Fascinating how we read the same thing and come to different conclusions.

They do seem to need a one-man IT Dept type of thing which is, these
days, almost non-existent.

"Basic Network Management" is a bit of a downplay but it could be that
they do outsource infrastructure stuff
but like to do simpler things internally rather than open tickets and wait.

LINUX probably because they run filePro in it.

C# .NET because of their WWW presence and possible B2B solutions and
mobile apps.

PC hardware and other peripherals because they are constantly in need of
cleaning/routine maintenance ...

VANs / EDI is normal these days since most industries have gotten some
sort of "hub" service provider as they
aim to set a standard across the industry or a one size fits all; much
like my own API Server to fetch common
carriers rates across US, MX and CA.

Windows, well, we all know why they need someone to keep PCs and
workstations running!  ;-)

Any one member of this list can handle these needs with both hands tied
behind our backs, hence the reason
why it was posted here.

Finally, I would suggest they move to Azure and 365 Cloud, and get rid
of any servers they have.  Network can be
managed remotely these days and skilled candidates for that combo are a
dime a dozen.  A Full Stack developer can
handle C# .NET and a 2nd developer can handle filePro - Counted, a team
of three each with special skills sets and
they are on smooth ride as far as their infrastructure is concerned.

To wrap it up: Full Sack Developer $80K, Azure & 365 Cloud Admin $70K
and filePro Developer $150K to $210K (the
pool to choose from is very very very small). A one-man that can do all
of it $280K (but this is a one basket scenario).

What say you, sounds about right?

I know my worth, I hold my ground ... I bring a lot to the table and that has got to mean something!
