I think the issue may be something about passive mode for FTP not working with certain modems, but damn if I know why some would choose to force that mode and others could care less... ☹

Anyway, I may be able to copy out the stuff Filezilla sends out to establish the both ways prt assignments, and whatever else is going wrong...

Just about the time I sent out this request, I had a long stint in the hospital fo the typi8cal "serious" problems of everything that I have so badly abused forever... finally breaking down.  ��  Yes, this should be a ☹ instead of a ��  However, after a little actual worry, I am back out and ready to go until someone invents full body regeneration that I can take advantage of as soon as it comes around.  Until then, maybe I can just replace one partat a time???  :_)

And, oh by the way.  I *HATe* hospitals... I mean I really HATE them.  As good and necessary as they are, they seem to get more impossible to deal with as time goes along.  They should just say at the entrance door, "Surrender your dignity here..."  a la Dante, but worse.

Now, I'll put a well deserved ☹

But, happily, I am out and "well" again... for a long as I can make it last.  ��  In fact, I'm going to play a date tomorrow night, and enjoy every minute of it.

The band I'm nin was pretty worried... we played a festival here in Tucson about a week before I went into the hospital, and that gig earned up several new jobs ghrough July and August... Until today, it was unclear if I would be able to make any of them... happily, my rebounding gene is still doing its part.  

Don't ask for particulars... that is the single worst feature of getting older... talking about all of the troubles and ailments one goe3s through becomes the only thing anyone talks about... and then it's even when everyone eis trying NOT to do that. ��

Back to the off-topic help... I will try the passive thing (again) as soon as I can read up a little bit on the syntax.   So thanks to all again.
