Hi David,
STICKING TO A LASER PRINTER:
In *some* circumstances you can print a barcode by selecting a font using
e.g. PCL-5 control sequences. This requires:
1) A printer with the necessary font built in, on an addin cartridge, or
downloaded;
2) A barcode symbology that doesn't require check digits or other
calculation;
3) a 1-Dimension (1D) symbology (like UPCA), not a 2D one (like QRcode).
4) You must have instructions for the particular font.
Outside of meeting these reqirements, you require some kind of software
shim.*
STEPPING AWAY FROM LASER PRINTERS
Some industrial label printers, especially, have their own control
language (such as ZPL for Zebra printers) and a bunch of barcode types
they can print. You'd have to code the whole page in ZPL, e.g., in
filePro.
* Our Print Wizard or AnzioWin product can serve as this shim. But I'd
discourage you from investing in a solution using either of these products
as support for them is riding off into the retirement sunset.
