RE previous email regarding using mid with a dim - Error Message received

I'm sure someone will know in  a second, but I think you need to go back to a few steps

1) it may not be an issue, but why are you using what could be a reserved "name" for an array? Even if it's supposed to okay, just don't.
2) prove that the array lookup is working
3) prove you can get the first ascii character out that array
4) prove you can convert that ascii character to an integer 

You were working on this late on a Sunday night, but I think if you break it down to the component steps you will find where what you need to do to make this perform.
