looking for an old(er) computer that can run SCO 5.07...

John,
I have a couple of 5.0.7 systems in production and a couple on standby.
I've moved an old 5.0.7 to my an ESXI server using my free license, and
one to VMWare Workstation Pro on a Win10 Pro PC. I'll have to check my
inventory for a couple of 5.0.7 boxes though. The ones I'm thinking
about were just desktop PCs that operated a serial door number key
panel, so they're really not servers.
Yesterday I started to copy a production 5.0.7 to a test ESXI server,
(again with my free license) as a failover of sorts. I've found that I
can get my fax server to access the on-board serial port, so it works as
a full replacement. That might be a idea for you. I'm using a Dell 7th
Gen desktop I get from a local refurbisher here in Scottsdale for $200,
and so far it works great. I haven't copied the live server to it yet,
but it should work like the previous one that's been running for about 2
years now.
I'll need a couple of hours to check my inventory though, so I'll get
back to you,
John
