I dunno about relying upon a printer having Wingdings and processing PCL5 code. I'd go with characters that will be printable until the end of time for 32bit unix. Hunt the archives for something by Jim Asman. Got to be something there.

Thought I remember seeing this somewhere there was a hp printer code you could put in printer maintenance to print a checkbox?
FWIW we're on CentOS7 w/FP 5.6.10R4 that uses CUPS I could have swore I saw it somewhere but can't find it Anyone?
