Windows 11 is coming

This might be Microsoft's way to get people to upgrade their hardware. Or
they might feel that they can reduce their R&D costs in making a secure OS
or software.

Knowing how most people around here are running on aged systems, that might
be rough. If you don't have TPM 2 onboard your motherboard, you cannot run
it.
Most hardware is going to get dropped.
I have four years to spec out and buy a new system. Next one will cost me
about what the last one did. Just specced out what I'd buy if I were doing
it tomorrow. $5730 after tax. I dumped about $5500 into the current
iteration. At least top-of-the-line is staying fairly consistent. Dropping
slightly, if you consider inflation, and the fact that I -didn't- toss the
top-of-the-line graphics card into this one, originally. I've upgraded
twice and now have the fastest RTX 2080 Ti, but this one started with a GTX
770.
It'll be fine. I have time. My current system also kicks the ass of most
people's systems. That'll happen when you buy the best, planning for an 8+
year life-cycle.
Just don't expect just any ol' system to run Win11. The specs say no.
And it's not even on performance grounds. It's literally on TPM 2 grounds.
I'm more pissed about the fact they outright lied to everyone. They said
Win10 would be the last release number of Windows, and it would be perpetual
streaming delivery. So, now we know we cannot trust a thing they say.
Awesome. This is almost as bad as Obama swearing, "You can keep your plan!"
