lol - You did no need to say it has been running for a long time if you 
were to
say you are still using version 04.05.00  ... ;-)

Talk about not doing anything to keep your IT up to date!

So, still running on a Tandy 1000?

It sounds like you need to run `fsck` on your OS but not before you backup
your filePro files and runtime ... Does this version support over 2GB 
files?
That could be your problem alone with any number of things.

People, invest some $$$ - scrap the junk you already got your $$$ worth 
out of it!!!!

Lets see: fpTech wont assist because it is not supported - buying 
support costs as
much as upgrading, lets ask the list and fix it for "free".  Is this 
"frugal" or just "cheap"?

Here is a solution: Buy a new server, get a new OS, upgrade your 
runtime, clean your tables
and rebuild your indexes.

Do.-

1. backup
2. fsck
3. rebuild indexes
4. check for files larger than 2GB
5. try again

better yet.-

1. backup
2. upgrade server, os and filePro
3. restore
4. use your new setup for another 40 years!
