OT: Apache vs ngnix

They both have their merits on performance in different areas, and I have
literally seen people mis-cite which is better for which (static vs dynamic
content) when making an argument on which to adopt for what role.

I'll take Apache every time.  I go way back to its predecessor, NCSA
HTTPD, before it was turned into Apache, so I'm extremely comfortable
with the architecture.  One can make the argument that it scales less
well, but it's better with Event MPM, and at the levels you face for
scaling, rolling another VM in a load-balanced solution is less painful
than dealing with nginx.

nginx configuration is a bloody PITA, and I loathe everything about it.
Arcane doesn't even begin to describe it adequately.  I'm not sure any
polite words do.  The primary reason GitLab is a royal pain -is- the
rolled-in nginx.
