This will depend on your Dell server, and whether it has a PCIe 2.0, 3.0, or 4.0 communications bus.
My old Dell server has PCIe 2.x, so I bough a Dell/Intel X520-DA2 SFP+ card.
As an inexpensive way to get to 10GBe, and since I had to replace a switch anyway, I purchased a Netgear GS728TX.
This has 2 10GBe copper ports, as well as 2 10GBe SFP+ (Fiber/Twinax) Ports.
It also has 24 1GBe ports, so it connects everything in my server room.
So my VMware servers are connected to switch via the 10GBe copper ports, and my Dell R710 server (re-configured for TrueNAS) is connected to an SFP+ port.
A 1.5meter SFP+ Twinax cable was only $14.99 on Amazon.
Don't expect 10 times the speed. It'll be faster, but your actual server and NAS speeds will still be your limiting factors.

Subject: Re; 10GB connections
I have been considering connecting my server to my NAS via 10GB connection. I would have to purchase a 10BG network card for my Dell server. The NAS already has a 10GB card installed.
Any suggestions as to how best to accomplish this will be greatly appreciated.
