OT: Cloud based application - Looking for interested affiliates

Jose, many people using filePro have applications which are tailored to their business. You are trying to sell something that is generic and will take business away from those on this listserve.

Most of my clients don't fit into any neat package. That's why I have clients, they need something different and don't fit neatly into a "canned Package". Think QuickBooks. Intuit has modules for almost every business. The problem is, many business do not fit into a canned package. They try to do this as they think they must or have been told this is their only choice. So, they "jump through hoops" trying to fit their business into the canned Program. Eventually they request some modification to meet their needs, if they can afford it.

I went to a conference given by a major player in the hospital Materials Management software. The developer, once a year, asked users what new functionality they wanted. Only if a majority of the users wanted the modification was it added. They did not do custom reports or forms unless all other users or a majority wanted the report or form. This kept their maintenance and support easy.

I sold an apparel System to an apparel manufacturer who want a new module. The programming department did not want to add this module as it would be a "pain" to maintain. The cost for this module was $75,000.00 and the sale of the basic package would be $150,000.00. I had advised the owner that we could write the module but that in the end, it would not be used as the computers were too slow (40 years ago). The owner of the company said he would not purchase the system without the module. The owner of the company I represented, wanted the sale. So he sold it with the module. I was correct, within 2 months of the system going live they stopped using the module. I got my 15% commission on the total sale.

OK, make that 16 bejillion and one ... Excuse me for being the guy that has written an application and is reaching out to others that may (or
not) be interested.

Yeah, of course but if I post anything suggesting people migrate from
filePro would be totally out of place since this post may infer that
their application is not functional or that mine is better.  That is NOT
my objective, I am simply reaching out to the very small group of
members that may have a need for what I have to offer.

I post implying or suggesting that filePro users "abandon" filePro, you
guys will rip me apart for doing so.  It is a crime no matter what, not
because of context, but because of "who" posts it.

A shame, a shame indeed.

What? Many times this has been the case - Many members have posted
things here that are totally not related to "developing filePro
application, filePro syntax and filePro `ONLY` subject"

lol - Now get your mop out and clean up the floor where you lost your
lunch!

BKW, in the end, for the 3 to 5 members that I may end up doing business
with, none would have a consequence on your life, your revenue, any of
your many applications, your businesses, your business partners ... for
that I am sure that if they use anything you've written, cannot possibly
be surpassed by anything I can possibly write.
