If the developer has tapped onto the indexes to retrieve data, isn’t he using the index? Albeit, indirectly?  

Everyone is speculating on a product which may or may not be released.  

I can recall a demo of an app to run filePro from a phone. It was never released. 

It is possible that all of the comments have/are being considered.
