I know a guy in NY that claims to have written PHP based code to tap 
into filePro indexes and retrieve data without using these - I have 
never seen it in action but I know that the developer has skills (he now 
works for Google); he used to develop for his father's company (a 
freight company out of NY).

Just earlier I was thinking about that - I also wonder how is it gonna 
deal with licensing, I mean, I can have a page sitting idle and 
depending on where/what is going on, AJAX is working behind the scenes 
calling two or three scripts to track/refresh any number of things.  
Perhaps a token ID used as a parameter every time you run them or 
opening a class session???

With everything out there being FREE, how are they gonna compete?  It is 
like: you are so loyal and love filePro so much, we want you to pay a 
load of $$$ to support us or continue using our product.

This is why I think that their business opportunity may be greater if 
they host the service as part of the package.  It seems that migrating 
from filePro has proven impossible by most if not all of its user base; 
takes me back to the days when Business Basic and COBOL were facing same 
problem (I never kept up with these so I cannot say whatever happened with).

BTW, not having extensions or methods to deal with things such as XML, 
JSON, WSDL, cURL will leave them dependent on other scripting languages 
thus begging the question: Is it ONLY AN HTML rendering language?  If 
that is the case, why bother with anything and not simply write the HTML 
code!?!

Not being able to access anything but filePro data is or should be a 
non-starter as well!
