Kinda wondering about why no one is looking at the root issue. Mint is just a "desktopier" version of Ubuntu.
Should be lots of ubuntu/Debian stuff in the mailing list archives...

For CentOS, it's compat-libtermcap as of CentOS 7. If it's 32-bit, that won't actually work because CentOS or Red Hat screwed up. I had to roll a custom one for 32-bit.
That package doesn't exist on CentOS 8...at all, for any bit-width. One would need to lift the C7 SRPM and build it on C8. Not difficult, if you know what needs doing.
As far as mint, no clue what package manager they use; I've never touched mint in my life. Never needed to.
