I was up on the filePro website today and noted that Version 6 has been released.

Take a look at some of the new functions that are available.

One of the interesting functions is sortarray(). This is an option which many have asked for and might find very useful and could possibly reduce the size of some programming. This feature will also make using the selectbox() feature much easier.

I have been using 5.8.03 for some time which has many of the new features and found them very stable.

A question for developers:

If FP Tech could supply an install program which would allow for "wrapping" a client's license into the install, would that be an impetus to upgrade clients?

My thought was to create an install option page which would allow for designating the install locations, if different then the default, plus selecting the which filePro directory (folder) and config. and/or edits file to use for your application.

This could allow you to "roll your own" for a specific application or client. You would be in a position to supply a client specific install disk. Yes, it would have to be able to check to only install newer files from the filePro directory - avoid overwriting existing files.

One other piece I would like would be the ability to save each of these configurations making it easier to supply updates/upgrades or maintenance releases.

In my case, I would have to create 38 separate installs.
