OK gals/guys, tell me what you would do should you need to backup your
linux server.
Thanks you all!

My preference is a new, rotating snapshot locally every day for at
least one weeks worth and weekly snapshots on a remote server for at
least 3 months worth. I'm less concerned about the OS than data and
network setup.
That's saved me a couple of times. About 2 years ago we got hit by
ransomeware near the end of the day. I was up and running by midnight
and that included testing that everything restored properly, was
working, and reindexing certain Filepro indexes which were the only
things affected. (The ransom-ware focused on files with specific
extensions in order to do as much damage as quickly as possible.
Filepro Key and Data files have no extensions so they were left unharmed
which meant that the work from that day was unaffected and just required
the index rebuilds.)
