I am not answering your question about filePro an ODBC.

However, it make more sense to run both on the server.  It should be a lot faster and it avoids the issue of mapped drives.  One must be logged in the system to see drive mappings.

I had to rewrite a lot of batch files used to run overnight tasks as they had too run on the server when no one was logged in.  Rather the using a simple f:\fp\rreport ......  I had to adjust this to e:\company\another folder\fp......

Yes, the locations are set in the batch file as my program reads the settings at time to know if the program is running from the server as a task, the server as a menu options or from RDP or a local computer.  This is especially true for creating PDF files as the files are placed into specific folders based on what the report is.
