Setting up a new ODBC connection

Rick--as far as I know, technically it should work either way, but if your ERP and filePro on the server then if it were me, I would set up the ODBC connection on the server. As long as the filePro processing itself doesn't have any prompts, then there is no problem setting up as a scheduled task (we have a few that work just like this).

Subject: Setting up a new ODBC connection
As you may be aware over my emails during the past week, we have had our old server go belly up, installed a new server, os, sql and installed filePro (fpodbc 16 user) version 5.0.15D9.
Now I must setup a new ODBC connection between filePro and our new ERP (in sql) software.
A couple of questions for those who may have set an odbc or are aware of it...In the past I set this up on my workstation (before I retired 2 1/2 years ago) and ran the updates each morning from the workstation. Is it better to set this up on the new server? Both filePro and ERP our located on that server. Once setup can this be run as a scheduled task without user input?
