It apparently can be used to stage web pages.  A bridge club I
play at regularly uses it to publish game results.  They used to
use Google Drive, but Google dropped the ability to host pages
with CSS etc.  Here's an example link to a githup page (I don't
show yesterday's as it was almost a record low game for me :-).
