@td gives /OV

Running filePro 5.7.00.04R4 on SCO Unix 5.0.7
In a processing table I assign a numeric value to a variable based on the month of a date (@td).  I'm getting /OV in that variable
When debugging a processing table I get /OV when I press 'f' for field and enter @td.
