I gave up on HP printers when the local printer repair business
couldn't buy parts from HP to repair a year-old CP2025dn color
laser printer. Add to the lack of support, the cost of toner for
this, and I replaced it with a Ricoh multi-function color laser.

HP also has a horrible record of dropping driver support for
older hardware, particularly scanners. I had a very nice SCSI
ScanJet that I couldn't use after an OS X update as I couldn't
get drivers for it.

I wish it were possible to obtain a single amendment to our Constitution. I
would be willing to depend on that alone for the reduction of the
administration of our government to the genuine principles of its
Constitution; I mean an additional article, taking from the federal
government the power of borrowing. -- Thomas Jefferson
