running filepro 5.0.14D4 & filepro 5.8 on the same computer?

Everything I've heard says that they can't successfully run simultaneously.

1) Indexes changed between versions 5.0.x and 5.6, I believe.

2) I recall that the shared memory for user counts does -not- cooperate
between the two versions.  I seem to recall someone doing this and it
resulted in hung processes which were unusable.  They ran into this while
trying to migrate from one to the other, running 5.0.x and 5.7.x in
parallel.

As far as I know, this is not doable.
