Ken,
You're are correct with regards to "privacy". However, today most of those
purchasing new systems are people who don't care about privacy. The post
everything on-line in social media. Microsoft has made it even easier to
"share" everything on line. Leave the OS open so everything on the computer
is exposed. No hacking or phishing needed, find the computer or device and
log on. Let's make it easy, just think of the ages of those doing the
programming and designing the OS.
What I liked about the Enterprise version was the speed with which my laptop
came up after being turned off or put to sleep. It was quick.; much faster
than with Windows 7. Now Windows 8.1 come up quickly making the machine
available almost instantly. My Windows 7 was take a few minutes to boot up.
Most of the time I hibernated the machine so it would come up faster. This
option seems to have been removed from Windows 8.1 and 10. It really isn't
needed.
Another nice feature is the ability to select the network one wants to
connect to prior to logging in. This is a handy feature when I am at my
client's location and want to connect to their network. Also, when I travel
and prefer to use my portable hotspot rather than public WIFI. This is
safer and in many cases faster as it isn't shared.
I have not looked at any version other than the enterprise version and I
think that the privacy setting are set to a more secure level otherwise IT
departments will refuse to install it. I am surprised that Windows 10 Pro
does not have secure default settings.
