Need suggestions setting up temporary remote location

Right now I'm no yet doing it. But I do need to get this resolved by
Tuesday, the 10th, or faster.
What I think I prefer to do is to connect to a PC that is running
locally with the server. I would rather connect with LogMeIn if this
works since it's easier to set up than RDP and I haven't yet used
GoToMyPC. (I'm open to change if the overall setup is made easier by
one of the other methods.)
The remote laptop will run Filepro Windows to generate a packing slip.
This is currently done by sending the Filepro output to a PrintWizard
service on a separate computer that then sends it to a printer connected
to a PC by USB cable. (PW made this so much easier to set up when I did
this.)
The second part of the operation builds a CSV flat file that then gets
imported to UPS WorldShip which then prints the label. During the UPS
Endo Of Day operation another CSV file is built with the shipment
information I need to send to the customer. On the local network I can
run a remote workstation for UPS and keep the database intact so all
data is in one place to generate the CSV. I am unsure that I can
connect the label printer on the remote laptop to the UPS software
through LogMeIn. I am also unsure that I can run a separate, stand
alone, version of the UPS software on the laptop and keep the database
info intact or even keep the same UPS shipper number and setup.
Adding another PW service isn't a problem if that is needed. But I
don't know if PW can then connect to the remote printer via LogMeIn or
the other service and if that connection will remain in place if I lose
network connection and reconnect.
Another possibility (though it may make things more complex than I would
like) is to set up a VPN for the UPS connection and run LogMeIn for
running the Filepro operation locally.
I don't have much experience with these tools so I was hoping to get
some feedback.
