I have had some "interesting" problems printing PDF files directly where
the printer thought it needed a special paper size.  The PDF files in
question were created on a Linux box using the ps2pdf from ghostscript-9.02
to convert groff PostScript output.  There were no problems printing the
PostScript files directly.
