JP and the mailing list -- "reply all" behavior

Kenneth Brody propounded (on Tue, Dec 17, 2013 at 12:24:04PM -0500):
| Can anyone explain this behavior that I see regarding JP's posts to the list?
|
| Normally, when I reply to a post, I use "reply all", which sends the message
| "to" the original poster, and "cc"s the list.
|
| However, with JP, and only JP as far as I see, "reply all" sends the reply
| only "to" the list. I have checked the message headers and I don't see
| anything different in his posts than anyone else's to account for this.
|
| Any ideas?
|
| (Note: I use Thunderbird for e-mail.)

I now grok that some of us are swept up in a praiseworthy effort to
preserve trees and the environment in general.

My emails to the fPlist contain this header:

    Mail-Followup-To: filePro Mailing List <filepro-list at lists.celestial.com>

which I don't see in other's messages.

A little D.J.Bernstein dissertation on this header is at

    http://cr.yp.to/proto/replyto.html

A more-or-less recent list of MUAs which generate and respect this
header is at

    http://www.leptonite.org/mft/software.html

Among them are mutt and thunderbird. I use one and Ken the other. When
I'm composing a message, mutt consults /usr/local/lib/MuttLists, which
contains the addresses of all the mailing lists to which I adhere.
