Mike,

I know you have received many replies, but you may want to consider a 
printer that is less costly to run and a little bit more upfront cost.

I have found Kyocera printers to be extremely reliable and extremely low 
cost to operate.

These printer are PCL5 and/or PCL6, many have bar code printing ability 
built in.
