Looking for PCL5 printers that are not host-bbased again...

I have some customers who are going to need PCL printer replacements
that will work with their Unix and Linux filePro systems as "raw" printers.
I've tested an HP P1606dn printer and I can get some functionality out of
it, but there are issues. For example, I am only able to get one font to
work with it, and I can't get the page margins set correctly to print a full
80 characters across the page.

I've also tested a couple of Canon printers that have host-based PCL,
but wasn't able to get them working very well.

I had been recommending HP 2055dn printers, but they are getting hard to
find and expensive. Originally they were in the $300.00 range, but now the
only new 2055dn's I can find are in the $700.00 range. Most of my customers
don't like to purchase reconditioned machines.

My customers need 2 printer options: A low-to-medium-priced "personal"
size desktop printer (roughly $300.00 max) , and a medium-priced workgroup
printer (up to $1,000.00, preferably $500.00 to $700.00).

They would probably consider any brands of laser printer. A newer
printer model that will be in production for a while would be a plus.

Thanks,

Mike Schwartz
