ddefine not creating files

The culprit turns out to be  ...fp/lib/makedir which appears to be corrupt.
I replaced it with an older version and all is working fine.

I'll go through the downloaded tarball from fptech tomorrow and see if I
can duplicate the issue. If so I'll report it.
