OT: Christmas Gift

As we attach our filePro applications to ODBC servers like MS_SQL_SERVERS,
one bit of mystery for me has been replication. Typically I just make a
backup and restore when I need it to happen, and every time I think about
learning about replication, the presenter ends up spending so much time on
the options it just seems too complicated since my needs can be solved with
manually backing up and restoring.

 

This morning in my email inbox was an article from a newsletter I get every
few days.

 

The article was entitled "Stairway to SQL Server Replication: Level 1 -
Introduction to SQL Server Replication". Like Charlie Brown I clicked on it,
however instead of Lucy pulling the football out from under me, for once the
author actually did what they said they would. Make it simple enough to
understand. 

 

So my non-filePro, but might come in handy to know in 2013 gift to you is
this article that I didn't even write.
