Don,

The error 5002 is coming from Printwiz.exe. It typically indicates that
that printwiz has been told to use a printer whose name is not defined in
Windows. Its standard behavior is to fall back to using the Windows
default printer; this explains why it worked if the Datamax was the
default.

If you will run Print Wizard with "/L /Debug" then PW will log debugging
messages, which could give you a great deal of information about what's
going wrong. You can view this info in printwiz itself or in the PWUI
program via View:View log.

Your command line LOOKS like it should start printwiz.exe with the
parameter:
   /P"DATAMAXE"
(after fP gets done processing backslashes). First, not that the quotes
are not necessary, because there is no space in the printer name. Case is
not important. If I had to place a bet, I'd bet that Windows does not have
the printer named "DatamaxE".

After installing their Datamax bar-code printer on the new WIN7 machine we are seeing the following (I should note the use of PrintWizard v4.0 & fP V4.8 WINDOWS Native):

The Datamax bar-code printer is normally not the default printer on this PC. If I do make it the default printer, I still get the WIN5002 error, press <ENTER> and my labels print. If the Datamax printer is not this PC's default printer then the labels do not print. This client's default print is a RICOH copier which has yet to be installed by their I..T. vendor.
