Save command

The record is written to disk as soon as a save is executed or before that
if you do a 'write' in processing.
I don't think a 'free chain' should be run if anyone else is adding records
to the database.  My experience with this is that the free chain never stops
running and the other stations 'hang up' until everyone else stops adding
records to the database.  If a station needs to run a 'free chain' you
should have the other users exit the program.

At what point is a record written to disk?

1. When save is executed

2. When the processing executed after the save ends

The reason for the question is that one of my client's when adding a new
record to a tracking file, while rebuilding free chain is running, finds
that some new records are not saved to disk.  

Yes, I know, I need to find out why they are periodically getting this
message.
