I now know what is wrong.  All future records will have the right 
creation date as I changed my dummy field from cd to ef.

Now all I have to do is make the @cd show up, which is there in the key 
file.

The field being displayed is !@cd.  And, I did have a dummy field named 
cd, which I changed, but cannot get rid of the wrong date for !@cd.  If 
I look at the key file using a text editor I can see the correct @cd 
date.  I just cannot get it to display.
