Those were the days :-).
I got tired of dealing with the flakey interconnects with the
Tandy external hard drives for the Model 16/6000s, and put four
70meg hard drives in a full-size tower case with the primary
controller mounted where the main board belonged. Bob Snapp
probably built larger systems, but that was huge for the time.
By comparison, I'm in the process of getting a 1U Supermicro
server ready to go to a client with 8GB RAM, and two 1TB SAS
drives with a total hardware cost about $2,000 including the 10%
Washington State sales tax.
When I went to work for Radio Shack in October 1980, a Model II
with 64K RAM and a single-sided 8in floppy sold for $3,899.
The Daisy Wheel II printers were $2,499, and hard drives weren't
available for them at any price.

Memoirs -- Bill Clinton is getting $12 million for his memoirs, and his
wife Hillary got $8 million for hers. That's $20 million for memories from
two people who for eight years repeatedly testified they couldn't remember
anything.
