laser labels

I'm sure this has been covered but it's been so long ago that I've
forgotten the recommended configuration. I'm finally switching from
an Okidata printing 2 up labels to using an HP LaserJet to produce the
labels. The dmp labels were 1" by 3 1/2" so I'd like a laser label of
a similar size. I ran a quick test of printing a similar format to the
laser printer and it produced a full sheet (8.5x11") of 22 labels.
This is a SCO system printing to a HP4250 and running filePro 5.6. I
looked at Avery Laser Labels and the closest label I've found (5161
format) has 20 labels per sheet leaving a small top and bottom margin
blank. I'd rather not change any settings on the printer since there
are all sorts of reports that I would hate to have to reformat. I
tested on the laser using this format:
Width of page: 85■
Width of form: 40■
Number of lines per page: 6■
Number of lines to print per page:
Number of forms across page: 2■
Number of forms down page:
Change password: ■ ■
Remove unwanted blank lines: Y■
Alignment check needed: N■
Print grand totals on new page:
Printer name: hp4250 ■
Initialization print code number: 56■Tray 2 Plain Paper and Forms
Terminator print code number: 58■Tray 4 Plain Paper
What's the layout for 20 labels per page that will work with a sheet
of Avery 5161 labels. Or is there another form that will work better.
I remember there was a format that worked with Avery laser labels but
I can't remember what the magic formula was. Thanks for you
assistance.
