I love the way they tout 128-bit AES as industry standard, when most places
are moving to 256-bit, if they haven't already. Plus, you still have the
man in the middle--no matter their disclaimer about never storing
unencrypted data on their servers. Sure...they could be storing it
encrypted. :/
And the PRICE! You call this not terribly expensive? The -express-
version is $70/mo, or $660/yr. I got my solution for $250 and never have
to pay another cent if I don't want to go for upgrades after my year is
up--and can keep using my latest current version indefinitely.
Oi. That's not what I'd call inexpensive. Sure, it lets you do 8 users at
once. Show me the person that's connected to 8 clients at once and doing
justice to any of them. It's bad enough with one client at a time and my
own local five windows, one of which has 9 tabs, another which has 10
terminal sessions. :)
I find myself wondering what you consider an "inexpensive" server. :)))

Mark,
I signed up with GoToAssist when it was first in development, as a "free"
beta tester. I still get their discount. As such, a "one day pass" (defined
as the current time until midnight the following day) is less than $7. If I
were using it more frequently, as I did for a while, $48 / mo is still a lot
but not unaffordable. Plus it does have an "always ready" mode that I have
not used, but hesitate to use for security's sake, especially within a
network!
Most of my remote connectivity is through firewalls (fortigates) using their
VPN Client. Unlike many firewalls, this one scans all traffic rather than
just opening up a hole. From there I launch RDP.
But I will be testing several of the other member's suggestions! I do still
like "free" when it works well!!
