OT:Dell computers

My two cent on this Dell issue is my daughter has a Dell laptop in which the
mic input does not work. The computer is only about two years old and out
of warranty of course. She tried to hook a mic to it to use on Skype and it
never worked. I checked it out and had a tech look at it. His suggest was
to open it up and see if the jack was actually connected to the mother
board. Probably another Dell cost saving issue.

Has anyone on the list run across this????
