I just got this same error yesterday.  (Using 5.6.07R9)  For me it 
happened when I was using DCLERK with a DEBUG ON command.  After I took 
the DEBUG ON command out of the processing it would enter DEBUG at some 
point in the processing (not where the DEBUG originally was located) and 
I would get the error after exiting processing and pressing "X" at the 
selection menu.  If I ran RCLERK instead then I didn't have any problems.

I'll have to download 5.6.10 and see if that corrects the problem.
